JJASGH Chief Sacdalan brings public hospital to greater heights 

A joyous, thanksgiving dinner was held by the officers and staff of the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JASGH) after its director, Dr. Merle D. Sacdalan-Faustino, was hailed as the regional winner of the “Dangal Ng Bayan” Awards by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for the kind of free medical services being offered in the said hospital, which is being run by the city government of Manila.

The celebration, themed “Dangal ng Bayan! Dangal ng Maynila! Dangal ng JJASGH!,” was held at the Gloria Maris Shark’s Fin Restaurant at the CCP Complex in Pasay City, where ranking national and city officials took turns in extolling Director Sacdalan. 

City Administrator Bernie Ang led the local officials in extolling Director Sacdalan and how she brought the JJASGH to greater heights. He was joined by Sta. Ana Director Dr. Grace Padilla, Secretary to the Mayor Marlon Lacson, Mayor Honey Lacuna’s chief of staff Joshue Santiago, urban settlements office Director Atty. Cris Tenorio, Barangay Chairman Jefferson Lau, St. Peter’s Life and Non-Life plans owner Dr. Mildred Vitangcol and Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. external committee chair Nelson Guevarra, among others.

Before this, Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo also lauded the good director of the JJASGH for a job well done, during simple ceremonies held at the Manila City Hall’s flag raising ceremony.

Sacdalan, for her part, thanked those who have supported the hospital’s endeavors under her stewardship, led by City Administrator Ang, Guevarra, Lau, FFCCCII Sec-Gen Dr. Fernando Gan and the Manila City Hall Reporters’ Association (MACHRA) headed by Itchie Cabayan as its president, which she lauded for reporting all the developments and programs being undertaken by the JJASGH to provide better services to Manilans.

Also in attendance were stakeholders like Principal Edita Lopez with Hemma Perucho, Mr. Mateo and Redentor Salonga representing Pedro Guevarra Elementary School and Jose Abad High School respectively and Felma Tria, President of the Universidad de Manila, all of which are beneficiaries of the INFOMEDOC Advocacies of the JJASGH. Gilbert Sugay of the Manila Barangay Bureau, her classmates in Medicine FEU-NRMF BATCH 83; Dr. Myrna Paloma of Ospital ng Tondo, the immediate past president of the PMA, Dr. Benito Atienza and past Philippine Pediatrics Society head Dr. Melinda Millares Atienza also came.

And by the way, belated happy birthday to a friend of long standing, Usec Penny Belmonte of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC).

Happy birthday too to another good, longtime friend, Dr. Anthony Leachon, a leading internist and cardiologist in the country who is based at the Manila Doctors’ Hospital.

Ka-Publiko gustong ampunin honor student na pangarap makapagtapos ng pag-aaral

INIHAYAG ng isang mambabasa ng PUBLIKO na payag siyang ampunin si Jerico Camparicio, ang honor student mula sa Roxas, Palawan na nagmakaawa sa netizens at sinabing gagawin ang lahat makapagtapos lang ng pag-aaral sa kolehiyo. Ayon kay A. Rivera, pag-aaralin niya sa Metro Manila at patitirahin pa sa kanyang bahay sa Caloocan City si Camparicio kung gugustuhin ng estudyante. Sa chat niya sa PUBLIKO, sinabi ni Rivera na isa siyang seaman at kaya niyang tustusan ang pag-aaral ng estudyante. “Pwede nyo po ako i connect sa kanya, I’m a seaman. Kaya ko sya pag aralin,” aniya. “Mga pasaway pamangkin ko hehe kaya baka sya na nlang po tulungan ko. Sa unit ko sya stay sa Caloocan kung ok sa kanya,” dagdag ni Rivera. Pinayuhan na lamang siya ng PUBLIKO na personal na padalhan ng mensahe si Camparicio sa pamamagitan ng social media. Seniors, PWD hindi na exempted sa number coding

HINDI na exempted sa expanded number-coding scheme ang mga senior citizens at persons with disabilities, ayon sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. “The exemption was removed because we now have window hours,” ayon kay MMDA spokesperson Crisanto Saruca Jr. “Our number-coding is implemented only from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. So the window hours, which are from 10:01 a.m. to shortly before 5 p.m., can be used by our senior citizens and PWDs,” paliwanag pa nito. Sinimulan ang pagpapatupad ng expanded number coding noong Agosto 15, kasabay ng pagbubukas ng mga klase. Samantala, bumaba na rin anya ang bilang ng mga nahuhuli na lumalabag sa number coding. Anya mula sa 1,000 huli kada araw sa unang linggo ng implementasyon ng expanded number coding, nasa 200 na lamang ito ngayon.
